Sanskrit and its Highlights

Sanskrit has been the mother of all languages and also a treasure house of multifarious knowledge. The depth of clarity lying in the Sanskrit language has been credited to it as the most compatible language for computers. At the same time, it has in its bosom a wide range of scientific, philosophic, linguistic, religious, social, economic, cultural, political, Spiritual and many other ranges of knowledge encompassing human relation with Nature and the universe capable enough to lay a solid foundation to build, progress and prosperous culture and civilization.

This inherited strength and greatness of Sanskrit became a source for evolving the Knowledge and Education which led our Country "Bharat" in the past, to its richness in all fields of human progress and prosperity. This reality made our country a "Jagad Guru" to the entire world. This sparkling prosperity drew the attention of the world resulting in bringing learners and invaders from all over the world. Over some time the treacherous mentality of the invaders took hold of our country into their fold and ruled. It started with the moguls and ended with the Britishers. The Britishers could cast and manage a long spell of rule over our country bringing misery and poverty while crushing down the past glory of our Country. They could do so due to their realisation that unless they break down our educational pattern and Culture they could never get hold of our country to rule. Thereafter eventually they did bring the offensive schemes and legislations to diminish the scope of Sanskrit to the extent of boycotting it as untouchable. This led to the trend of discarding Sanskrit in society and moving toward Western thoughts and ideology. This trend is even continuing despite our country gaining independence.

The degradation of Sanskrit left it to be a mere language and for religious affiliation. The greatness of Sanskrit as an ocean of knowledge remained ignored, deprived and left behind the dark screen to be unnoticed and unevolved.

On the other hand taking the clues, ideas, and hidden secrets of its literature, scriptures, manuals and so many other valuable records the knowledge was harnessed and developed by the Western countries which led them to industrialised, progressed and developed countries.

The irony of the climax is that the trend of ignoring Sanskrit is still there not providing it its true Recognition.

Our educational pattern is still following the path put forth by the British treachery. To overcome this trend and duplicity it is essential to know and believe the inner core, its strength and the power of Sanskrit. The secret of Sanskrit has its power, emergence and evolution coming out from the Soul. Further, the power of the Soul is branched out in a person under 5 vaults of Human Personality namely "Physical, Emotional, Mental, Intellectual and Spiritual".

The wise thing needed today is to incorporate modern knowledge to be Synthesized with the subtle aspects of the human personality through the path inscribed by Sanskrit as literature and Science. The knowledge of ancient and modern achievements is to be merged, bringing them in the form of suitable content and to be incorporated into the curriculum under the Pattern of Gurukula kind of Education. This will help the person to attain the basic qualities to gain knowledge. The basic qualities needed to gain knowledge are "Dedication, sincerity, listening skill, attention, questioning, thinking, recalling, contemplating, developing deep concentration, efforts all leading to realisation and wisdom". This being the reality, the Gurukula kind of education is more suitable and ideal to enable a person to become prosperous, successful and useful to the society, country and the world at large.
